Great review on the album from Grindthieves!!!

What you see in the image above is my own personal copy of the fucking incredibly enjoyable cassette release from FFF‘s mostly cassette only DIY Orange Socks label. I don’t know how I went without knowing about Apzolut before I was asked to do the logo for him on this release. If I had to wager, Apzolut is probably some older metal head dude in front of a computer. I dunno, whatever he is, his shit is fucking stellar. Super intelligent and still super fun, it traverses rave tinged breakbeat hardcore, super successfully pulls off the difficult task of remixing or utilizing metal elements without coming off contrived or corny, frolics through gabber and hardcore realms, drifts into sort of video game soundtrack territory at times, effectively combines just about every fractured subgenre there is in jungle and drum’n'bass music, gets deep and dark and dangerous with some heavy ambient material, gets busy with some classic sounding IDM and downtempo hybrid type stuff, and exhibits some rather cheek vibes every so often without ever overdoing it or pushing it too far. A perfect mixture of all that good shit.
It looks like you can buy a copy of the tape off someone on Discogs or something, or get the digital release via name your price (with no minimum!) on the Orange Socks Bandcamp for free. Do what ya gotta do, this one’s fucking awesome.
